Isabel Hospice

People stay at the Hospice when they need support to help manage symptoms related to their illness, and to get any pain under control. Many of their patients have cancer, however almost 50% of those they care for have other life-limiting conditions. Sometimes, people stay when they are coming to the end of their life, and require care to stay comfortable.

£25 – Provides a one hour clinical nurse home visit

£75 – Covers 3 hours of a specialist care nurse in the In patient unit

MK Friends of Milton Keynes Hospital & Community

We support the patients, families and community of Milton Keynes University Hospital who are sick, infirm or in need of assistance. Items bought with money we raise can range from physiotherapy equipment, chairs, furniture, wheelchairs, and medical equipment. We have raised over £3.5 million and have recently donated £50,000 to MK Hospital Radiotherapy Appeal.

MK Friends provides a range of services at MK Hospital. Our café and shop including our online shop, deliver to patient wards and out trolley service, which goes around the wards 364 days a year, is run by our volunteers.

MK Prostate cancer support

MKPCS supports people affected by prostate problems. We also strive to raise awareness of prostate cancer and the need to seek early advice.

MS-UK

MS-UK, a national charity here for anyone affected by multiple sclerosis, to empower them to live healthier and happier lives by improving the understanding of MS and providing support where it is needed most.

MS-UK is completely independent, we do not receive any government funding.

A few ways money will be spent to help those affected by MS:

£10 could pay for an information pack to support those newly diagnosed with MS.
£25 could pay for an MS-UK Helpline and Information Officer to answer a call and provide information and emotional support.
£100 could pay for 5 hours of online exercise coaching to help people stay active at home and manage their wellbeing.

Mudlarks

Mudlarks is a Hertford based charity supporting adults with learning disabilities and mental health issues.

Through supported learning and meaningful work in the community, Mudlarks’ projects help people build confidence and self-worth, and develop important skills.

• At our allotments in Cromwell Road we provide gardening therapy to our clients, who grow vegetables in a safe and caring environment
• The Mudlarks Café in Railway Street provides training, work experience and employment for adults with learning difficulties which improves their skills and confidence.
• Our Larking About gardening team works in Hertford, managing all of the Town Council gardens.
• Our Special Branch team of gardeners helps the elderly to maintain their gardens.
• Our Forest School at Panshanger Park supports young adults with learning difficulties , giving them the opportunity to take part in activities, connecting them with the natural environment and encouraging self-directed play and exploration.

All of Mudlarks’ projects support local people with learning difficulties and mental health issues to take a full and active role in our community, and lead more fulfilling lives.

We want to change our world so there are no barriers to people with sight loss.

RNLI

It cost £191m in 2023 to run our lifesaving service. This might sound like a lot but we think the 29 people our lifeboat crews help on average every day are worth it. With your support, £1,600 will provide a crew member with layered clothing and boots. £590 will pay for a life jacket.  The average training per crew member is £1,450.  Your support really can make a huge difference to our volunteer crew who are on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to keep visitors to our coastline safe.

Southridge occupies a 16-acre site that nestles in the bottom of a small valley surrounded by the lush green Hertfordshire countryside. Although we have all too often witnessed the true horrors and cruelty that humans subject animals to, it is here that the lengthy process of reversing the damage begins.

Southridge is not a sanctuary, it is a re-homing centre. Our aim is to place every animal who walks or is carried through our doors into new, responsible, kind and caring homes. We care for many species of animals, and at one time can have up to 250 animals on site that need our support.

Rugby Against Cancer

After a lightbulb moment from our Founder Aaron Beesley, Rugby Against Cancer was born in May 2018. The rugby family is a tribe. A bond that cannot be broken between people who genuinely love, trust, care about and look out for each other. Rugby Against Cancer is here to support that family.

Cancer does not discriminate and can affect anybody, so we want to be there for those that need it. As a charity we harness the power of the rugby community to raise funds and awareness to enhance the lives of those living with cancer.
